Common questions
Is Lull a cure for tinnitus?
No. There is no cure for tinnitus, and Lull is a wellness app, not a medical device. What it can do is make the ringing easier to live with — masking sound and a notch tuned to your pitch can lower how intrusive it feels, especially at night. For medical concerns, see an ENT or audiologist.
I hear no sound.
Check that the Master volume slider is above 0%, your iPhone's hardware volume is up, and the silent switch isn't muting media. Make sure headphones are connected. If sound still doesn't return, force-quit the app and relaunch it.
Why do I need headphones?
Finding your tinnitus pitch accurately needs clean, direct sound, which headphones provide. Masking and the mindfulness sessions also work best on headphones, particularly for sleep.
What is "the notch"?
Notched sound therapy removes a narrow band of frequencies centered on your tinnitus pitch. On the Sounds screen, tap "Find your pitch," match the tone closest to your ringing, and Lull centers the notch there. You can toggle it on and off to compare.
How do I track how I'm doing?
On the Tracking screen, log how intrusive your tinnitus feels each day (0–10). Lull charts your trend over 7 or 30 days so you can see patterns. These are your own self-reported notes, not clinical measurements.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Everything stays on your device — nothing is uploaded. On the Tracking screen you can Export all your data as a file, or Delete all data, at any time.
How do I manage a subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
